Summary

The Aileen native app gathers a record of your conversations with Aileen. Your conversations can be read by members of our creative and technical team, and by the experts and researchers we work with. For this reason, please do not tell us anything private about yourself, or share personal details like your name or where you live.

You can permanently delete all of your data from both the app and the servers. You can do this under the Settings menu when you are in a conversation.

We do not use any embedded analytics and cannot link a conversation to a specific person. We do not track IP addresses, other than general HTTPS server logs, which are rotated regularly. No personal data and information is shared with any third-party organisations.

The Aileen servers are based in the UK.

Reporting a conversation

If you feel that a conversation is inappropriate, we ask you to report it to Rezilience by clicking the 'Flag Conversation' button under the Settings menu. Once a conversation has been flagged, we will take a snapshot of that conversation, which will be kept until our investigation is complete.

Data Safety

Our team do not have direct access to your personal data, such as your identity, your log-in details or financial information. This material is anonymised, and it isn't possible to connect your personal details to your conversations or account. We do not have access to this information and cannot share it with third-party organisations.

Your conversations with Aileen are logged and can be read by our team, and by the researchers we work with. They will be used both to help improve the Aileen app and to help us with our research into how people use chatbots and how they can be made safer or used to help with wellbeing and prosocial messaging. Any personal information found in the conversation logs will be removed.

Aileen uses an AI language model provided via the OpenAI API. Data shared with OpenAI is used to generate responses, is not used to train their models, is not stored as ongoing chat history by the model, and may be held briefly for system reliability and to help keep the service safe.

If you do not wish your conversations to be read, then please delete your data after using Aileen.

Deleting your data

You can delete all your data from within the app by clicking the 'Delete data' button under the Settings menu. This will completely remove your chat data from the device and the Rezilience Ltd (run through the company Millipedia) servers.

Your data is identified only by a random ID, and we cannot associate it with any specific user. If you no longer have the app installed, then we will not usually be able to identify your account unless you can provide additional information, such as chat transcripts, or have completed an online purchase.

Please do get in touch if you are unable to delete your account by following the usual procedure.

Getting in touch
